Back-lit Gameboy Mod - Queen Chrysalis by Somnias Back-lit Gameboy Mod - Queen Chrysalis by Somnias
Yoooo, so I tried my hand at modding for the first time and I jumped straight in at the deep end and decided to purchase and modify a Gameboy Original. Needless to say, after 2 failed attempts and a hell load of "oh no I done f***ed up", I managed to get the result shown above.

I back-lit the screen with a V3 'Mint' Backlight from Nonfinite Electronics which works perfectly and matches the colour scheme. I ordered some new buttons from eBay and because I had clear housing for my Gameboy, I was able to paint the inside with little difficulty.

Just a heads up because I know what some people are like this is not for sale.
I made this for myself, and because of that, I get the crummy first timer mistakes.

Worry not, I loved doing this and I hope to learn more about modifying Gameboys so I can design some more themed ones for conventions and all that jazz (maybe even a commission or two???).

Ah well, I'm pleased with it, and I hope you like it.
Blood, sweat and tears guys, blood, sweat and tears. :iconjontronplz:

I have consumed way too much alcohol right now.
Weh.

But yes, the games.
Such perfect.
Wow.

Well done sir. From the image above it looks perfect except for the screen brightness, but I see in the comment's below that you've already thought of that, so good on you, mate. (I'm not from Australia, so I probably did that wrong. :/ )

I'm not from Australia either haha! (Either way, you did a good job lad. ;) )

And thanks! Sadly since this post I've been having issues with the interiors itself which is heavily disappointing. The contrast dial seems to be having some trouble and some games don't seem to function on it, (it's a PAL Gameboy/Games so it's nothing regional) so I think it needs a good do over... again, as well as the brightness.

It's a labour of love, my good man, a labour of love.

Love. The only worthwhile reason to do anything important to you on a personal level.  Don't lose sight of your passion. :)
